We are honoured to be one of the few owned and independently operated funeral directors in Sydney.

Gentle Hand Funerals was founded by Anna Moretti-Calos, whose journey in the funeral industry began in 2014 with InvoCare as a Family Service Advisor at Northern Suburbs Memorial Park. Anna later continued her work at Forest Lawn Memorial Park before advancing to the role of Funeral Director/Conductor in 2017 with Guardian Funerals, one of Sydney’s largest funeral homes in the South-West Corridor.

Anna has specialised in creating personalised and themed funerals that celebrate the unique lives of loved ones. Notable examples include a coffin lid designed as a golf course, with a chapel adorned with golf buggies, buckets of golf balls, and clubs, as well as a golf cart filled with personal memorabilia provided by the family. She has also arranged for the Batmobile to serve as a special escort, involving the children in the final farewell to their father. These personal touches exemplify Anna’s commitment to honouring the individuality of each life.

 

Gentle Hand Funerals was established to fill a void in the industry, offering personal and affordable services to families during their time of need. We understand that arranging a funeral can be overwhelming, and Anna’s personal experience with grief, particularly the deeply emotional funeral of her father, has given her unique insight into how grief affects individuals differently. This experience is one of her greatest achievements and underscores her dedication to supporting families during these difficult times.
